About the artist

My ceramics are handbuilt, and reflect my career as a mathematician, with a focus on geometry. I am interested in texture and surface pattern, usually returning from my frequent international travels with some new object to press into clay in my suitcase. My pieces are mostly functional, all food safe. I like to think of my pieces fitting comfortably into people’s lives.

I am a member of the Longyear Gallery, and I exhibit and have given workshops at the Pine Hill Community Center. I also am a member of East Branch of the Delaware River Plein Air group and have exhibited locally with them. I enjoy the creative community in this area, and participate in the Catskill Crafters group, working in a variety of media.
