About the Artist

Weil is a multimedia artist based in Denver, New York whose studio practice focuses primarily on painting and drawing. He is concerned with rendering apparitions using pattern-making and symbolic language originating from meditations on the auto-projection of self while considering cyclic history, simultaneous reality and psychogenesis in the process of mapping one's mind.

For this tour, he is inviting visitors to view his contribution to an exhibit titled "Where is This? Paintings & Drawings by Paul Weil & Trevor Wilson" housed inside the Galli Curci Theater in Margaretville—a 100 year-old, 5,000 square-foot raw space that is a former cinema.

Weil is also working on a public art project of large-scale panel paintings on barn buildings at active farms in Delaware County for which he is currently seeking funding. Viewers are able to visit the farms to see the paintings in those contexts as part of a tour titled "New Worlds for Old" and to discover the vibrant agricultural economy and community. Completed installations include the Davis Farm in Margaretville and Echo Orchard Farm in Hamden with proposed locations in Andes, Bovina, Delhi, Hobart, Stamford and Roxbury.
